Football Information - Norwin PAL Midget Football (Little Knights)

 

8-28-10  Norwin vs California  

The Little Knights visited beautiful California High School Stadium for the opening weekend of the Mon Valley Midget Football League.  All four (4) teams were very successful with the Tiny-Mites(age 6-7) winning 20-0, the Termites(age 8-9) winning 44-0, the Mighty-Mites(age 10-11) winning 36-6 and the Midgets(age 12-13) winning 28-0.  The Little Knights hit the road again next week with a trip to Monongahela.

THE TINY MITES JV SQUAD ALSO HAD A STRONG PERFORMANCE VS YOUGH. Tanner Trice, Tyler Shigo and Noah Czajkowski scored for the JV Knights. While defensively, Christian Minto and Anthony Palmieri played outstanding. The play of the game occurred when Tyler Shigo intercepted a Yough pass that sealed the victory for the Knights. 

 

 

THE NORWIN TINY MITES(1-0) OPEN THE SEASON WITH A WIN, BEHIND THE LEADERSHIP OF QUARTERBACK CONNER CHRISMAN. HE SCORED TWICE WITH RUNS OF 45+ YARDS. THE SCORING WAS CAPPED OFF BY A TOUCH RUN OF 40 YARDS BY GARRETT CRAZE. THE WILD BUNCH DEFENSE WAS ABLE TO KEEP CALIFORNIA OUT OF THE END ZONE. THE WILD BUNCH RECEIVED STRONG PERFORMANCES FROM AARON SCHMOOK, CHASE KRANITZ AND FROM THE BIG DOG UP FRONT BRADEN PETRARCO, WHO LED THE TEAM WITH WITH 5 FLAGS. THE TINY MITES WILL TRY TO KEEP IT ROLLING NEXT WEEK WHEN THEY TRAVEL TO MONONGAHELA.

 

The Mighty Mites(1-0) jumped on California early and never looked back.  Aaron Carr and Gianni Rizzo each scored two touchdowns and Brady Sigut added one.  Scoring two point conversions were Brady Sigut, Josh Franks and Eric Sico. 

  The Norwin Termite(1-0) offensive line led by Danny Good, Mike O'Donnell, Zack Liebdzinski, Jacob Fierle, Chase Blatzer paved the way for 6 Knight scores on Saturday. The 6 scores were by  Nate Petrarco, Owen Sabol, Billy Kerston, Chase Blatzer and John Altieri.  The defensive unit was led up front on the line by Ethan Nelson, Ty Webb, and Joe Dye  who had 2 fumble recoveries. 

The Norwin Midges(1-0) played a very good overall game and were led by a strong passing and running attack.  Sean Bowen threw two long touchdown passes to Logan Deri and Nick Amendoa added two rushing touchdowns.  Josh Tinsley and Nick Amendola each punched in a two point conversion.   The defense held on with a goal line stand at the end of the game to preserve he shutout.
